Shanghai, an oriental metropolis with a history of seven hundred years, has witnessed drastic and historic changes while pursuing the reform and opening-up policy. With the quickening of the economic development tempo, the outlook of the city has been getting more and more beautiful. The people are living and working in peace and contentment, and international exchanges here are gaining in frequency. Shanghai has become the most economically developed and the most modern city in China, with sufficient capacity to sponsor various international conferences and other events. The 6.5 million diligent and intelligent women in Shanghai will pledge full support for Shanghai to bid for the 2010 World Exposition and will make their due contributions to this great event.
