Respected Bureau International des Expositions,

It''s the pride of the Chinese people and the five million workers in Shanghai in particular that Shanghai, the beautiful and modern international metropolis, is bidding to host the 2010 World Exposition. The World Expo, if it is to be held in Shanghai, will boost the social, economic and cultural development of Shanghai.

Trade Unions at all levels in Shanghai will support and cooperate with the Municipal Government in the bid for the 2010 World Exposition. If Shanghai is successful in the bid, the Federation of Trade Unions would motivate workers in all fields to participate in the preparation for and hosting of the World Expo and make due contributions to its success.
