World Expo Looks Forward to Assistance from 120,000 Talented People

World Expo Net August 18: Shanghai will spend 3 to 5 years to construct a joint development system for Yangtze River Delta talent and a database containing the details of 20,000 core specialized and 100,000 general-category talented individuals to ensure the HR needs of World Expo 2010 are met.

“Regarding Suggestions on Development Work on World Expo Talent in Shanghai” published by the city’s Personal Bureau and other relevant departments put forward a proposal to build a database containing the details of 20,000 core specialized and 100,000 general-category talented individuals as well as a joint development system for Yangtze River Delta World Expo talent while also paying attention to attracting a group of high-class overseas professionals familiar with World Expo.

The department concerned will predict the categories, specialties, levels and quantity of Expo 2010 talent required, construct an authentication system, carry out HR training projects for urgently-required posts and authorize a group of training bases. World Expo talent needed includes specialized Expo talent and general-category talent. Specialized talent will be principally made up of people involved in the areas of exhibitions, languages, foreign affairs law, logistics and other specialties and general-category talent will mainly include volunteers and participants from society etc.
