On August 9. 2004, the unveiling ceremony for Shanghai World Expo Human Resources Development Center was held, marking the commencement of the personnel-training program for Shanghai World Expo 2010. Sponsored by Shanghai World Expo Coordination Bureau and Shanghai Municipal Bureau of Personnal as well as organized bu Shanghai World Expo (Group) Co., Ltd. the center is specially entrusted with the tapping and training of human resources for Shanghai World Expo 2010.

As a special agency responsible for training qualified personnel related to Shanghai World Expo 2010, the Center will open to the whole China, integrate with the world and carry out the key municipal strategies of rejuvenating Shanghai through science and education and invigorating Shanghai through human resources development by aiming at emancipating the primary productive force and exploiting the enormous power of the fundamental resource. The Center directly undertakes the arduous task of developing and fostering talents for Shanghai World Expo 2010, and to a certain extent, shoulders the historical responsibility of uplifting the comprehensive quality of Shanghai citizensm, propelling the internationalization of Shanghai talents, and enhancing their overall superiority.

Business Scope

With priority on World Expo related personnel training, brand licensing and management for outside training institutes, and organization of World Expo related qualification tests and certificate issuance, a world-oriented working platform is to be formed for the training, internship, reserve and assignment of World Expo related personnel. The Center full utilization of both domestic and international resources will ensure the cultivation of a number of multi-level and multidisciplinary talents who would meet the requirements of Shanghai World Expo 2010 by being global-sighted, innovative, practically capable, persistent in self-improvement, and prompt in reacting to and handling international information.
