In order to make the modern science a powerful guarantee for the successful holding of World Expo 2010 Shanghai and promote the development of economy and society, on the basis of a series seminars and the experts’ comments, approved by the Ministry of Science & Technology and Shanghai Municipal Government, Special Project for World Expo 2010 Shanghai Science (simplified as “Special Project for World Expo Science”) will be set up soon.

Special Project for World Expo Science will closely wind around World Expo 2010 Shanghai and the great demand to build our country into a well-off nation in an all-round way. Through technical innovation, integrated tackling of key difficulties in science and putting the achievements into full use, World Expo 2010 Shanghai will be combined with the innovation, introduction and application of science. It will present a demonstration of span development for the realization of hi-tech in China as well as its industrialization.
