All the buses under the public transportation system of Shanghai is to be renamed before Expo 2010 for the convenience of visitors.

Considering the integration and optimization of the public transit network and the expected influx of visitors before and after Shanghai Expo, how to promote the function of Shanghai’s buses,“the windows of the city”, is atop the agenda of the department concerned.

Like the reform in Seoul in 2004, Shanghai will mark different buses routes to different areas. Yet, unlike the radical measures Seoul took, which allowed little time for citizens to get familiar with the new routes, Shanghai will adopt a step-by-step reform.
