International hotel tycoons to share Expo opportunities

With Shanghai Expo 2010 approaching, tycoons of global lodging industry continue to focus attention on the huge Chinese market. Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide announced on Monday that another two hotels will join in the team in China before 2008.

The two hotels under plan locate in Tianjin and Hangzhou respectively and will be managed by Sheraton Overseas Management Group.

The two hotels are 4-star with over 300 luxury rooms and suites. So far Starwood has owned 26 hotels in mainland China, Taiwan and Macao, while another 27 are under construction.

Actually, many hotel giants besides Starwood are eyeing the big cake of China market. French-based Accor also announced its decision to set up 100 hotels in China in the coming 5 years.
