UN, World Bank to join World Expo
THE United Nations and the World Bank will set up pavilions during the 2010 World Expo in Shanghai, which raised the number of participants to 56, Oriental Morning Post said.

Up to August 2, 50 countries and six international organizations have confirmed their participation in the Expo, said one official from the Bureau of the Shanghai World Expo Coordination.

The city is scheduled to invite 70 countries and international organizations within the year. The participation of the UN and the World Bank will greatly boost the preparation work of this grand event, said the report.

The UN, since its establishment in 1945, has been active in every World Expo.
