Landscape lighting planned for Expo

A new landscape lighting plan designed for Expo 2010 Shanghai in Pudong Area was now under discussion, an official said on a recent ceremony awarding people’s favorite landscape lighting.

In the plan, the lighting route will be extended to Yangpu Bridge in north and Lupu Bridge in south. Cohering with the landscape of the Bund in Puxi, the lightening buildings in Pudong will form another skyline in the city.

Energy efficiency problems will also be considered.

Recently, Pudong Area invited citizens to participate in the selection of 10 favorite lighting buildings among 50 candidates. About 700 replies were received in two weeks.

Ten, including Shanghai Oriental Pearl TV Tower, Shanghai International Convention Center, Jinmao Tower, Shanghai Oriental Art Center, are awarded.

Official said they hope listen to people’s ideas in the design of landscape lighting. More participation will be encouraged.
