Three shifts in the new stage of Expo preparations:
hardware construction shifted into full stage from partial starting;
theme
interpretation shifted into object presentation from concept thinking;
exhibition invitation shifted into gradual implementation from preliminary
contact.
The 3rd session of the Executive Committee of Expo 2010 Shanghai China
yesterday called on all forces to join the new stage of Expo preparations. Chen
Liangyu, Poliburo member of CPC Central Committee, Secretary of CPC Shanghai
Municipal Committee and Director of the Executive Committee of Expo 2010
Shanghai China, presided and addressed the session.
In his speech, Chen Liangyu pointed out Expo 2010 is an important national
project and Shanghai as the hosting city has done a lot preparation work
including the Expo Park planning and residents’relocation. And now a new stage
involving more departments and harder tasks requires the realization of“three
shifts”: hardware construction shifted into full stage from partial starting;
theme interpretation shifted into object presentation from concept thinking; and
exhibition invitation shifted into gradual implementation from preliminary
contact.
As Chen Liangyu stressed, the success of Expo 2010 relies on persistent and
painstaking efforts, requiring perseverance as well as innovation. Focusing on
the Expo theme“Better City, Better Life”, comprehensive innovation should be
demonstrated in many aspects including exhibition content, planning and design,
organizing pattern, policies and strategies, etc., Expo 2010 Shanghai would
feast visitors from all over the world with splendid charm and leave Shanghai a
precious cultural property as well.
