Revised guidelines in support of Expo2010
THE Chinese central bank's Shanghai headquarters has published a revised version of guidelines on loan issuing. Banks should give priority to industries that gear to the central and city governments' growth plan and with good potential to earn socioeconomic profit, the new guidelines said.

Construction of the World Expo 2010 and infrastructure in Pudong fall into this group. Caution is urged for banks when issuing loans to those sectors whose overheated growth China is curbing.
