Mr. Loscertales, the Secretary General of BIE visited Expo Shanghai Exhibition Center located in Huaihai Road in July 23, and spoke highly of the Center and considered the communication platform between the organizer and the public the best one among all he had ever seen.

Mr. Loscertales said that Shanghai is an open and glamorous city with consistent improvement, and a perfect place to hold the World Expo. He expressed that Expo Shanghai would be the most important exhibition in the 21st century by demonstration of an open China to the world and close partnership of different countries under the background of globalization. Expo Shanghai would be a gathering of people from different countries and regions and would tell the public how to enhance living quality and how to meet environmental and cultural challenges.

Mr. Loscertales accredited the success of Expo Shanghai Exhibition Center to the open attention and participation by the public from which Chinese participation, history and significance of World Expo was introduced. He said he was impressed by the rich contents and high tech in the Center and called on more citizens to visit since the location was in the central area and very convenient for public transportation.

The opening ceremony of the French version of Expo Shanghai official website (http://fr.expo2010china.com) was also held on the same day, Mr. Loscertales and Mr. Zhu Yonglei, Deputy Director General of Bureau of Shanghai World Expo Coordination were present.

Regarding the launch of the French version of the official website, Mr. Loscertales mentioned that it would help a lot to the overseas promotion of Expo Shanghai. He said that personally he paid close attention to the website and got updated everyday and so were other staffs in BIE. Mr. Zhu Yonglei expressed that the launch of the French version of Expo Shanghai official website was another step to improve international communication and would certainly open a new window for the overseas promotion of Expo Shanghai.
