In order to promote Expo Shanghai, its mascot Haibao was officially displayed at Haining, Zhejiang on July 1. Citizens and tourists of Haining now are able to see Haibao in two famous attractions: Haining Yanguan Tide-seeing Scenic Spot and China Leather City in Haining.

At the unveiling ceremony held at the Carnival Plaza in China Leather City in Haining, guests and citizens presented showed their support to Expo Shanghai by participating in the signing activity of "hand in hand with Haibao, receive Expo Shanghai together". They had written down their best wishes of a successful Expo and shown their anticipations of visiting Expo Shanghai. At the scene, organizers also held a picture exhibition called Approaching Expo, drawing a lot of attention from citizens and tourists. It provided a platform for Haining citizens and tourists to better understand and experience the World Expo.
