Shanghai World Expo Land Holding Co Ltd organised an expert panel to select the works of architectural design for sample site of the World Expo 2010 Shanghai recently.

The works of the Shanghai Xian Dai Architectural Design (Group) Co Ltd, Shanghai Pudong Architectural Design & Research Institute Co Ltd, the joint entity of Architectural Design & Research Institute of Tongji University and Shanghai Municipal Engineering Design General Institute were selected the top three.

The Shanghai Xian Dai Architectural Design (Group) Co Ltd will be the general enterprise to cover the later designing works.

The selection procedure was under strict supervision of the authority. The expert panel included Zhang Yinger, Zhang Chenyao, Su Gongzhou, Zhou Liang and Lin Yuanxiang. They were all senior professionals in the architectural, structural, urban planning and economic fields.

The sample site covers 21.2 hectares with a floor area of 44,000 square meters. It receives an investment of 300 million yuan (US$37.5 million).
