Greek Foreign Affairs Minister Dora Bakoyannis visited the Bureau of Shanghai
World Expo Coordination yesterday afternoon.
Zhong Yanqun, standing deputy director of the Shanghai 2010 World Expo
Executive Committee met with Ms Bakoyannis and they chatted about the
participation of Greece in World Expo 2010 Shanghai.
The 2,000-square-meter Greece Pavilion will have a good position in Zone C of
the World Expo Site.
Zhong said she expected Greece to sign the participation contract at its
earliest convenience because the organizers will hand over the land in November
to participating countries so they can begin construction of the national
pavilions.
"I look forward to seeing a brilliant Greece Pavilion," Zhong said.
She also answered Bakoyannis' questions about the after use of the World Expo
Site and accompanied her to have a bird's eye view of the site.
Bakoyannis said Greece would select a commissioner general soon to
communicate with the bureau on the details of Greece's participation.
She also revealed that the Greece Pavilion would highlight Greek culture and
economic development.
