Shanghai media have launched a nationwide campaign to find poems suitable to be recited when the World Expo opens in the city in 2010.

The Union of Shanghai Writers, together with several leading newspapers in the city including Jiefang Daily, Wenhui Daily, Xinmin Evening News and Oriental TV Station, invited people to write poems based on the Expo theme "Better City, Better Life."

To gain some inspiration ahead of the task, more than 50 poets and writers earlier this week visited the Bureau of Shanghai World Expo Coordination and the Expo site.
