Top World Expo Shanghai official today met with SM Acharya, the additional
secretary in Indian Ministry of Urban Development, and introduced the latest
progress of the Expo preparation.
Zhou Hanmin, deputy director general of the Bureau of Shanghai World Expo
Coordination, said the India Pavilion will locate in the A section, where the
China Pavilion and most Asian pavilions will be.
Zhou hoped India could present a charming national pavilion.
Acharya said the Expo can not only boost the relationship of China and India,
it is also an opportunity for India to present itself to China.
It is a big challenge to manifest India's long history and rich culture, said
Acharya. They are discussing the designing of the pavilion now.
India's Ministry of Urban Development is in charge of the country's
preparation of Shanghai Expo.
India confirmed the participation in November 23, 2006.
