The Expo Shanghai Publicity Week & Exhibition "The Path to World Exposition" was held successfully during 6th to 12th in December of 2007 in Guangzhou. The exhibition of "The Path to World Exposition" attracted a large number of visitors and this exhibition also highlighted the relation between Guangdong and the Expo. The connection between Guangdong and the Expo has had a long history and the first Chinese who attended the Expo was Xu Rongcun, a businessman from Xiangshan of Guangdong. Moreover, the first Chinese who proposed to host the World Expo in Shanghai was Zheng Guanying, also from Xiangshan, Guangdong and his "forecast for hundred years" is full of far-sight. The exhibition also displayed the awards obtained by products from Guangdong in previous World Expositions, including the prestigious carved ivory ball of Guangdong which was awarded with the top prize of "Best handicraft of the world" in Expo San Francisco U.S.A. in 1915.

The hottest spot of this exhibition is "Mini Train of World Expo". This train combusting charcoal with puffing steam is designed with the same brake principle as that for steam trains 200 years before. Although the train is not as high as knee, it can drive a load of 2 tons and twenty adults at most. During the exhibition, the booth of "Mini Train of World Expo" was always crowded. Many children who visited the exhibition strived for becoming passengers on board and taking a tour across the three virtual "railway stations", Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou with newly learned world exposition concepts.

In addition to the attractive Exhibition of "The Path to World Expo", many other world expo promotional activities arranged during this Publicity Week in Guangdong also received enthusiastic responses. Zhong Yanqun, Standing Deputy Director of the Shanghai Expo Executive Committee, accepted interview with "First Interview", a famous program of Guangdong TV Station and introduced the history of World Exposition and preparations of World Expo 2010 Shanghai China to the public in Guangdong. The special lecture of "Opportunity for China, Event for the World" was held successfully in Guangdong Provincial Zhongshan Library with a full house. Many audiences expressed that, the series promotional activities during the World Expo Publicity Week opened their minds and brought a lot of inspirations to them.
